"Sangeetha Gnyanamu Bhakti Vina Sanmaargamu Kalade O Manasa!" - Sri Tyagaraja
Smt. Savitha Namuduri is a musician hailing from Hyderabad, India. She started learning music at the age of 6 from Smt. V. Lalitha, later from Smt. Y. Bala Bharathi Devi and from Late. Dr. Nookala Chinna Satyanarayana. She received intensive advanced training from Guru Smt. Prema Ramamurthy, who moulded her into a concert level musician. She was further mentored by Late Sri N. S. Sreenivasan, who refined her performance techniques.
Savitha is highly indebted to her gurus and well-wishers, who provided immense support and guidance during her formative years.
Savitha was a recepient of CCRT scholarship for Carnatic Music, Junior Research Fellowship granted by the University Grants Commission (UGC). She has completed Sangeetha Alankar from Akhila Bharathiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. She worked with Sri Akella Mallikarjuna Sarma of Hyderabad, on the 'Application of Tala Prasthara for Swara Kalpana' - for her thesis as partial fulfillment of the Sangeetha Alankar requirements.
She has also won numerous competitions, notable among which are, Tambura Prize from Kalasagaram, Secunderabad, Madras Music Academy, All India Radio and other avenues. She has performed in India and in United States.
She has been conferred awards such as Oustanding service award from TAMA, Acharya Shri from Carnatic Music Idol, USA and DroneAcharya award from Sangeeth Samrat series. She is a well respected teacher and performer, who lives in the Dallas area and has been teaching for the past 20 years via her music school Surabhi Music Academy. Her students regularly perform and compete in local events. She spearheads several music programs involving local artists and is very active in the music community.
While music is her passion, professionally, she holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Georgia State University, Atlanta and works as a Data Scientist.
Glad to have performed for Carnatica's Sankranthi festival. Catch the lilting nalinakanthi. The main item is Satileni Guruguha Morrthini in Poorvikalyani, a composition of Sri Tanjavur Ponnayya Pillai. Sri Ponnayya Pillai composed thsi krithi in praise of his Guru, Sri Mutthuswamy Dikshitar.

Blessed to have rendered two keertanas written by Brahmasri Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma garu as part of the Siva Rahasyam pravachana mahayagnyam . My renditions start at the 20 minute mark. The two keertanas presented were:

2. Dayayaa Paalaya in the ragam Kaanada

Today is my Parama Guru, Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna's remembrance day. Sharing a piece from a thematic concert of Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna's composition I presented for Saptami Foundation's annual festival in November 2015. Please excuse the audio quality.
On the eve of Deepavali, I present a humble offering to one of the Trinity of Carnatic Music, Sri Muthuswamy Deekshitar. This great composer attained moksha on Deepavali day. The composition is Gange Mampahi, in the ragam Janjhooti, set to Khanda Chapu Talam. The krithi is preceded by a ragamalika shlokam from Jagadguru Sri Adisankaracharya's Sri Ganga Stotram.
